Champaign native Allen Stringfellow (b.1923, d.2004) was known for his colorful collages and strong imagery, celebrating life in the African American community as well as religious, musical, and familial themes. He worked to break down barriers of all kinds, and while acknowledging life’s difficulties, his work reflects profound hopefulness and joy. Please join us for this special exhibition of work from the collection of his local family!
