The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has been named a recipient of the 2019 Educational Fundraising Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
Out of 90 U.S. higher education institutions recognized, Illinois was one of four institutions to win an Overall Improvement award for exemplary fundraising programs in the category of “Public Research/Doctoral Institutions with Endowments Over $350 Million.” The award recognizes universities showing significant programmatic growth and diversification over the previous three years.
As of May 2019, the university’s largest, most ambitious philanthropic With Illinois campaign had reached $1.68 billion out of its $2.25 billion goal. The university raised more than $415 million last year, making it the most successful year of fundraising in the history of the institution.
“These institutions have not only demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism and best practice in their fundraising efforts, they have contributed to the betterment of educational advancement worldwide by serving as a model to which others can aspire,” said Sue Cunningham, CASE President and CEO.
