The Purdue Summer Band will fill Riehle Plaza and downtown Lafayette with invigorating tunes July 19, followed by the Lafayette Citizens Band’s regular summer Thursday concert. As a songwriting expert on the subject once said, “Summer means fun.” Don’t Miss It!

Farmers markets. Three of them each week May-October. Really. Get fine fresh produce, baked goods and other stuff; run into people you know and make new friends. Lafayette Citizens Band. Concert band music directed by William D. Kisinger. Traditional, rousing and fun to hear. Opening acts at 6:30 or 6:45 p.m. most weeks. LCB at 7:30 p.m. Riehle Plaza, Second and Main streets, Lafayette. Thursdays through Aug. 3. Also: On July 4, the Stars and Stripes Concert; this band will play 8-10 p.m. The band also will have a Labor Day Concert at 7 p.m. Sept. 4. Details
