The student editor, along with the staff editors, is responsible for the editorial oversight of Asian Campus Tribune’s publications and website http://asiancampustribune.com.
1) The Student Editor will work closely with management to coordinate intern/student reporters while handling press releases. They will also be tasked with facilitating internal meetings with student reporters and organizing external meetings with student organizations.
Experience in journalism is a must, and responsiveness and flexibility is essential. This role deals with tight production deadlines, so the Student Editor must generally be able to return calls or e-mails from the staff editors and production coordinator on short notice.
Time commitment: 10-12 hours weekly
Juniors and seniors majoring in journalism or communications preferred
Ability to work remotely
Strong interpersonal & organizational skills is a must
2) Student Reporter:
The Asian Campus Tribune student reporter will be tasked with writing stories, reporting news and following events on their respective campus. They will also have the opportunity to work with student organizations and write about any subject relevant to the student body.
Interviewing local students and residents
Building contacts to maintain a flow of news
Recording interviews using technical equipment or shorthand
This position is open to all majors. We are looking for individuals who are interested in working closely with the international community.
Ability to report 2 stories a month
Active promotion on and off campus
Ability to attend online and onsite meetings
